He was the graduate of the 3rd Actor Training Course of TVB. He casted in a number of TV programmes. Later, he guest-performed in the film "The Last Tempest", directed by Lee Hon-Chung in 1973.

A native of Fujian province, Ng Man-Tat was born in 1953. He started his career by joining the 3rd acting class organised by TVB in 1974. After graduation, Ng joined the famous variety show "Enjoy Yourself Tonight", and played supporting roles in a number of television series including "Chor Lau Heung" and "Police Cadet 84".
Ng and Stephen Chow have co-operated in a series of blockbusters, including famous television series "The Justice of Life", movie "All For The Winner" and the record-breaking "Shaolin Soccer". Although Ng's career has been dominated by comic roles, he won Best Supporting Actor at the 10th Hong Kong Film Awards for his role in "A Moment Of Romance", which recognised his status as a skilled veteran actor.
