| Born in Sidney in 1952, Doyle worked as a sailor in Norway, medicine seller in Thailand and well-digger in India, between other jobs, before his debut as cinematographer in Edward Yang's "That Day on the Beach" in Taiwan in 1983. After this movie he worked for reputed directors Chen Kaige, Zhang Yimou, Sylvia Chang or Wong Kar Wai. Also, from 1998 he has worked in USA, Australian and British movies. Finally he debuted as film director in the japanese movie "Kujaku" ("Away with Words") in 1999. |
