Tony Leung Ka-Fai joined TVB's Actor Training Course in 1981. He then joined RTHK. During his three years services, he starred in a number of TV dramas. He once wrote articles for the newspaper Sun Man Pao, and later even published his own collected articles as a book. The famous director Lee Han-Cheung invited him to star in the films "Burning the Imperial Palace" and "Reign Behind a Curtain". His outstanding performance in the latter film won him the Best Actor Award at the 3rd Hong Kong Film Awards.
