Anita Mui Yim Fong debuted onstage at the age of six, and won the First Annual New Talent
Singing Contest in 1982 when she was eighteen. Since then she has become one of the most
important and recognized entertainers. She began her film career in 1983 and won the Best
Supporting Actress Award at the Hong Kong Film Awards with "Behind the Yellow Line". In
1987, the film "Rouge" won her the Best Actress Award at both the Golden Horse Awards in
Taiwan and the Hong Kong Film Awards. In 1997, she was awarded Best Supporting Actress
again for her role in "The Eighteen Spring" by the Hong Kong Film Awards. Mui was the
President of the Performing Artists' Guild of Hong Kong.

On December 30, 2003, Anita Mui passed away after losing her battle with cervical cancer. However, her legacy as one of Hong Kong's top performers remains embedded in the hearts of those who have worked with her and her fans as well.
