DB Title Update: RED LIPS (1991)

Added most of the role names for this picture

but came across a couple of stumbling blocks. Producer Man Wa also appears in the movie, but he's the only person in the cast who doesn't have a photo in the DB. Also listed here as being in the cast is Wan Seung-lam, who I cannot find in the film after several attempts. His name is not in the opening or closing credits either. I have feeling someone added him because he bears a very, very, very faint resemblance to the guy who plays "Mabel's" father in the movie from certain angles (though not this one ;) ):

Somehow, I have the sneaking suspicion that this guy is Man Wa. The movie is an overacted lecture about the evils of Hong Kong and how the place destroys the lives of innocent young girls, so who better to play the nagging (and ultimately correct) father of the female character who suffers the most than the guy who produced the movie? I realize this is a big stretch, so I'm hoping someone might recognize the guy pictured here. Perhaps he really is Wan Seung-lam and I'm just not staring at the photo long enough, but this is the only major character I can't match to the cast list, and he's billed in the closing credits just two slots below Yum Yum Shaw, who plays this character's wife.

If this is Man Wa, then it's a safe bet we can remove Wan Seung-lam from the DB for this film.

I think he's Ling Man-Hoi but no proof can be given at the moment.

I updated the cast list a few years ago and again after my Hung Chi-Sing ID.
I added Wan Seung-Lam at the first time. If I remember it correct he is only a extra in one fight scene.

Another thing I noticed:

The DB entry for this 1991 film has a "theatrical run" of 02/06/1995 to 02/06/1995. I can dig a film this weak having a one-day release, but are we sure it was four years after it was made? Just wondering if that info is for a different movie, of if this one had a delayed release of some kind?

A few years ago the movie was two times at the database: as "Red Lips" and as "The Vengeance" (1995). After it was proven that it is the same movie I merged the two. It is possible that "The Vengeance" is a new edit or a re-release of "Red Lips".

The movie was two times at the database because it was released in HK theatres for two times. First time in 1991 or 1992 (don't remember exactly), and the second time in 1995. It was released under the different titles, and in my opinion there was an original movie that was released in 1991, and in 1995 they did an edited version with added extra footage from another one or even two unfinisihed movies. But I couldn't find any proof for that.

This doesn't surprise me, as there really seems to be two separate pieces to the film, and the only things that tie them together are a) a phone call between Dick Wei (in one story) and Phillip Ko (in the other) in which the former tells the latter about his plans to take over a nightclub and b) an actress who plays Ko's girlfriend and works in the club, though her two "worlds" could just as easily be from two different films. I've got another Kara Hui-Dick Wei movie from around this period that seriously feels like they did the same kind of stitch job, so perhaps it wasn't uncommon.

What would be nice is a "fix" to the DB system whereby we could add "release" dates and "re-release" dates in situations like these, just so there would be some clarification for the uninitiated who might stumble across such an entry in future generations.
