DB Title Update: IDOL (1993)

Postby Brian Thibodeau » Mon Oct 22, 2007 5:48 am

These credits are probably redundant as the DB entry for this one seems fairly complete, but here they are anyways just in case anyone was missed. I've also included some portraits as the performers in this one have none so far. The credits only list four actors, but there are FIVE major parts, so perhaps someone could ID Yeung Ga-lok from the two extras below and then ID the other guy as well.

Production company logos are also included. VCD is from Universe, which is listed as distributor in the DB, though I don't imagine this played theatrically.

Leung Sap-yat (according to the DB). This guy acts like this throughout the movie, so it's virtually impossible to get a decent portrait!

Not sure which of the following is Yeung Ga-lok (as credited in the DB), but both of these guys have major roles, so hopefully both can be ID'd

I'm a bit confused, and not at home to check my review of this one. Did you switch the photos of the actressses, or just their character names as related to this film?

I switched/changed the name relation of the images of the actresses and I changed the role names (if the image IDs are wrong I thought the role names are also wrong. Please correct me if that was wrong).

I recognized the wrong image IDs because I saw that the Chan Hiu-Ying images not showed the actress I know from movies like "Tequila" and "Deadly Desire" (she looks very good in that movie).

Finally had a chance to check this one again. Your switch of the character names was right...kind of. Chan Hiu-ying does play Kathy, and Yip Yuk-ping does play Cat, but for most of the film, BOTH women are called Cat, which makes a bit of sense when you consider one character idolizes the other. I changed Chan's character name to "Cat/Cathy" just to cover the bases.

Hi Guys,

Yeung Ga Lok cd be Johnny (on 2nd row 3rd pic). He look like Lt Yeung in Angel Terminators (1992) (11th row 1st pic).

Yeung appear in both movie. What do you think?

Definite resemblance. I'm convinced. Nice catch. I'll let others chime in with opinions before changing anything, though. Not sure where "Johnny" came from. I provided these screen shots, but don't recall that character being called Johnny. Perhaps an oversight on Mr. Calros' part?

Hi Brian,

Don't worry. Mine too. One good thing about it is that the good as well as the bad will disappear together.
