DB Title Update: THE LONG GUN (1988)

Postby Brian Thibodeau » Mon Nov 05, 2007 4:44 pm

These aren't the best, even though they're from DVD. Tweaked a couple to try and overcome some contrast issues, but not much luck. There should still be some usable info here. Can't confirm 1988 as the year of release since there is no copyright on this particular print, but the liberal use of John Barry's score from THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS on the mandarin track at least dates it post-1986/7.

This title card is tacked on at the beginning, so it should probably be an alias for now.

Process of elimination, plus near-top-billing in the opening credits, makes me think this is Ng Gai-yin

Kong Ching-ha

Chuen Yuen

Li Min-lang

Tse Kin-man

Pretty sure this is Keung Dai-chuen. He wears the glasses for most of the movie, and he runs around a bit when he takes them off, so this is the best shot I could get.

I have the DVD and added that movie to the database.
The Taiwanese movie database entry with the year:

You are right with Geung Dai-Chuen.

Changed Tai San (1) to Tai San (2) because (1) is not in the movie and (2) is in Taiwanese productions.
