Jackie Chan's movies

Postby williamwan » Mon Aug 16, 2004 8:31 am

I notice DB list "Stranger in Hong Kong" and "Cub Tiger from Kwangtung" as separate movie. Some websites list them as same movie.

Can anyone comfirm if they are the same movie?

According to Mr. chinchanchung, who is the gentleman who knows more about Jackie Chan in North America  , they are two different movies.

http://www.jackiechanssx.com/page/filmo1970.html

I investigated in chinese sites, as
http://www.mov8.com/people/show.asp?enname=Jackie+Chan
and
http://www.dianying.com/gb/person.php?p ... =ChengLong
and the two films are always listed as different movies.
Also the crew and most of the cast are not the same.

Have you any information that we have not?

Thanks, Carlos

Your reply is superquick. I got the info. from IMDB website.

Also, I cannot find "Stranger in Hong Kong" in Mr Ching Chan Chun's website to verified the casts.
Do you have this movie full casts? DB only list three names. :D

Sorry! I have not seen any of them

I think our only hope is posting a message to Mr.Chinchanchung, it's possible he had this movie.
Also I think the IMDb got its info from the book "I Am Jackie Chan" which list both films as only one.

Now I have searched in chinese sites the filmography of the co-star of that film, Betty Ting Pei, trying to find "Stranger in Hong Kong", but it DOES NOT FIND ANYTHING!

So, maybe you were right...

But first of all I want to know mr. Chinchanchung's opinion.

Thanks for your information, Mr. chinchanchung...
In that same page they say "Stranger in Hong Kong" is an alternate title to "Police Woman"...
That's impossible!
It's a mess, all of this...
OK, I give up.

I don't want to touch nothing in the HKMDb till anyone show me the credits of that film...

I think I owe an apology to you, Mr. Williamwan.

Hey! Where did you find that book?

Very good!
And it will be very useful to find titles! :D

And you're right, that film is, it exists, although I can not find Jackie in its credits...

Anyone knows the chinese symbols of his first artistic name?

And now I can not find "Little Tiger..."

Well, thank you very much, Mr. chinchanchung, for that book. :D

I'll investigate that book, but I need time...

Thanks Carlos and Mr chan. :D

Both of you are great help. Sorry to put you through all the searches. At least I feel that DB is more careful with its data than other sites which prefer quantity over quality.

Thanks again.
