I'm not convinced that they are. They seem to be listed as separate individuals in the HK Filmography. Further investigation needed I think.

Here's a snapshot from the credits of Boat People...


...and it seems to be different from the Yau Daai On Ping credit listed on hkmdb: 邱戴安平 (http://www.hkmdb.com/db/people/view.mhtml?id=5667&display_set=eng).

But in my opinion it's just strange that these two names are so similar. And Stanley Kwan has been for long Ann Hui's assistant director. I'm still not convinced at all. I'll try to find more info...

In past editions HKIFF didn't do a retrospective focused on Ann Hui? Anyone could help us to solve this question?

I found a credit in the HKIFF retrospective on the Eighties that lists the credit as Yau Tai Oi Ping. So, if it hasn't been done, I'll change the entry to reflect this.
