Lee Kin Man / Chui Chung Hei / Lung Fong

I've been brainstorming with two other editors regarding the HKMDB entry for "Lee Kin Man". Some cast entries were based on a photo on another web site, which identified the name "Lee Kin Man" as belonging to a middle-aged actor with credits in "old school" kung fu films. That actor has a prominent facial mole at 4:00. (Imagine a transparent clock over the actor's face, centered on his nose, and the hour hand at 4:00.) But we find that this actor had appeared prominently in lots of films which had no cast listing for "Lee Kin Man" (or its English variants, like Li Chien Min). Conversely, the name "Lee Kin Man" appeared in cast lists of films in which the man-with-the-mole was not to be seen. After contemplating the available evidence, we have reached two conclusions:<br><br>(a) The man-with-the-mole is Chui Chung Hei (a picture of him is on his credit page). Some of the films in which Chui Chung Hei (and not Lee Kin Man) was listed in the Chinese credits are: Crane Fighters, Dance of Death, Buddha Assassinator, Thousand Mile Escort, No-one Can Touch Her, Lady Constables, Lung Wei Village. In all of those films the man-with-the-mole was in the cast. We have also examined some films with only English credits, which had English variants on that same name, and contained that same actor in the cast. So we feel confident that the man-with-the-mole is Chui Chung Hei, and have transferred some of the credits from Lee Kin Man to this actor. The transferred credits are only those ones which we ourselves had entered based on the former erroneous belief that the man-with-the-mole was Lee Kin Man.<br><br>(b) "Lee Kin Man" was really an early screen name used by Lung Fong. In the following films, the name "Lee Kin Man" (or an English variant) appeared in the credits, and Lung Fong appeared in the cast (but was not credited as Lung Fong): "The Hot, the Cool, and the Vicious", "The Ming Patriots", "Edge of Fury", "Green Jade Statuette," "Challenge of Death."<br><br>Our plan (if no one objects), is to delete the name "Lee Kin Man" as a distinct entry. "Lee Kin Man" (in English and Chinese) will be entered as an alias to Lung Fong, and all remaining credits listed under "Lee Kin Man" will be transferred to Lung Fung. Any editors who had formerly added credits to "Lee Kin Man" based on the assumption that he was the-man-with-the-mole, should transfer those credits to Chui Chung Hei. (Note: There were some films in which both Chui Chung Hei and Lung Fong appeared, such as "The Hot, the Cool, and the Vicious", "The Eagle's Claw", and "Challenge of Death".)<br><br><br>
