Release date for Enter the Dragon is wrong

Actually the date release for Enter the Dragon wasn't July 26 1973, but Los Angeles August 19 1973 (with a pre-opening in New York July 17). The movie wasn't released in HK 'till the end of September: that's why HK audience felt offended (and get mad because Raymond Chow raised the admissions from 4 to 7 US HK dollars), and as result the HK b.o. for this wasn't a record-breaker. According to many trusted sources (including IMDB, Robert Clouse's book The making of Enter the Dragon, HKFF 8th edition and many others), the movie opened worldwide in US August 19. Nobody did ever report July 27 until a fake news spread the web few years ago by saying EtD was released just 6 days the untimely death of Bruce Lee, and almost any website took it for granted. Actually July 27 the final print of the movie wasn't totally ready yet. Hope a so good and useful website like this will correct the wrong date on the EtD page. Thanx very much and happy new year.

Hello, happy to give my little contribute to this precious site. In 2007 I had the privilege to meet Lau Kar Leung, Gordon Liu, Leung Siu Lung and others. I made interviews to them and then I put that stuff into an Italian documentary (I'm from Rome), that was the 1st of his kind here. I'm still very in love with HK cinema of the 70's. Ciao. Ps. actually Italy was one of the last places where Enter the Dragon was shown, released here december 73-january 74, grossing about 337 millions italian Lira of that Era, that was a quite good even if not exceptional b.o.; all in all the best known Bruce Lee movie here was Fist of Fury/Jingwu men, that grossed around 443 millions Italian Lira, but HK no.1 movie in Italy was King Boxer/Tianxia diyi quan, with about 900 millions italian lira.Bye.
