| Grandaughter of pioneer film actor and director Lai Man Wai (Li Min Wei) and daughter of supporting actor Lai Bun ["We Want to Live" (1960), "The Seven Kids" (1961)...] Gigi appeared in small roles in movies and TV series beginning in 1986. From 1992 she started a career as pop singer, signing a contract with WEA.
Born in Hong Kong. She is the granddaughter of Lai Man Wai, father of Hong Kong Cinema.
Her father, Lai Bun, was active in Hong Kong movies both before and nehind the screen of the fifties.
She began her film career with a small role in "United With Stand", in which she played a member in the athletics team.
She then switched to the TV field and starred in many TV drama series.
She resumed acting in movies in 1990 with "Dragon in Jail", opposite Andy Lau.
Her most significant role is the radical teenager in "Young and Dangerous".
She was also singing and became one of the recording artists of WEA. She won the fourth prize in RTHK's top ten popular songs contest and bronze prize of TVB solid gold annual awards.
