Lo Duen established a theatre group in 1931 together with Ng Wui and Lee Sun Fung. In
1932, he took part in the film 'Bombard the Fingered Mountain'. He came to Hong Kong in
1936 where he made his debut in films. During the Sino-Japanese War Lo acted in dramas in
the province of Guangxi. He returned to Hong Kong after the war and rejoined the film
industry as an actor, director as well as script writer. Ever since he has acted in over one
hundred films, including "Everlasting Sorrow", "Prodigal Son", "Family", "In the Face of
Demolition", "Feast of a Rich Family, "Men and Women" and many others. Films he
directed include "Everlasting Sorrow", "Tragedy in Canton", "Typhoon Signal No. 10",
"Coming Home at Old Age" and so on. Lo was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement
Award of the Hong Kong Film Criticsf Association in 1998.
