Summary: El cheapo action classic !

Who cares if you can see the wires or the plot makes little sense or the backgrounds are painted with the ghastliest primary colours you'll see outside a kindergarten ? The fight scenes are plentiful and heart-pumping, and the climactic fight is the equal of any from a bigger budget spectacular.

Another hk movie where the sequel has nothing to do with the original.

A saw a english dubbed movie, which could of been done better. The voice actors all sounded like they were bored. The movie itself looked older than the original. The story is simple.

Poor editing is seen when Wu Ma's son is just told his father is dead then it jumps to him fighting one of the americans. Not sure it is due to the dubbed version i saw or what was going on.

The action was sped up, but there are some good fight scenes. The actors were wasted, they all are look good fighting (though Billy chow is wasted in only 10 minutes of the movie) but isnt enough to save this disappointing movie!!

Summary: Cheesy

You know a bad movie when you see one. The failure of "Iron Monkey 2" is interesting though. It's not so much that Yuen Wo Ping couldn't choreograph - but rather, it just has the worst camera shots ever: even worse than that of "Legend of the Wolf." In fact, the actors are fully capable action performers - some of the most incredible I've ever seen. Unfortunately their talent is shadowed by the awkward camera angles that failed to capture the goods.

Nevertheless, the plot is one of doom. It simply wanders all over the place and never focuses anywhere in particular, which only confuses the daylight out of us. It's a shame, really, because with more competent direction, the cast could have delivered an action masterpiece. The fight scenes are still not too bad, though.

I thought it was awful. Yen is the only returnee from theoriginal. The direction is actually incompetent.

I agree with you. IM 2 sucked the big one. Poor screen play--poorly choreographed fights. Extremely low budget. Donnie Yen was wasted. It had nothing to do with Iron Monkey and it looked like the producers rushed it out to make a fast buck. It was too cheesy, especially when all the wires on people's backs were prominent in many of the scenes.
