Summary: 7/10 - good, violent action-comedy

Frankie Chan writes, directs and stars in an action comedy about two cops who have to protect witness Cherie Chung, even though they're not quite sure what she's a witness too and she may not be as innocent as she would like to appear.

The film is fairly typical of the era, e.g. Tiger On The Beat - a smooth blend of action and comedy that keeps the pace high and the depth low. Frankie Chan's humour is a touch darker and more sophisticated than many of his contemporaries, and perhaps funnier - though the subtitles on the Deltamac dvd make it rather hard to tell at times.

Action is not as plentiful as it might have been, but there's some good stunt work, and some fairly brutal violence at times.

A mostly disposable film, but entertaining enough.

Summary: no spaghetti in sight...

a rather odd film from frankie chan, who stars as a cop who finds two sisters being attacked on a beach. one is killed and the other (cherie chung) is rescued by chan and taken back to the flat that he shares with his partner, kent cheng. cheng promptly falls for chung and the two cops begin to unravel why chung's sister was killed...

it's quite a strange film, as the situation comedy and the characters seem to get more attention than the plot, which kinda just happens in the background. there's some decent comedy, a couple of short, but good action sequences in a film that is pretty entertaining. it's not quite 'the fun and the fury', but it's worth a watch.
