Summary: isn't that...

tsai ming-liang is cementing his place as a favourite of mine, and i've only seen two of his films. after watching the incredible 'the wayward cloud', i picked up 'goodbye, dragon inn'.

this film is about a cinema in taiwan, with a small audience, that is showing king hu's classsic 'dragon inn'. a woman who eats pistachios, a japanese man, a couple of familiar faces, a little boy and others gather in the theatre to watch the film, or not. a woman with a limp, who works at the cinema, makes her way slowly around...

this is either a film that you will love and wax lyrical about the choreographed aestheics and subtletly, or, you'll say that it's boring, dull and lifeless. as for me, i loved it...
