| Biography |

| | Second daughter of literary critic and poet Yoshimoto Takaaki. Made her literary debut in 1987 when her novella "Kitchin" (Kitchen) was awarded
the Sixth Kaien Newcomer Writer Prize, as well as the prestigious Izumi Kyoka Literary Prize in 1988.
