The Crazy Companies 2

Summary: more of the funny stuff.

The Crazy Companies 2 is a very funny sequel to the box office hit of the same name. Screenwriter/director Wong Jing reunites with young Andy Lau Tak-Wah, Nat Chan Pak-Cheung, and Stanley Fung Sui-Faan for more of the funny stuff that made the first film so popular. Chingmy Yau Suk-Ching returns with Sandra Ng Kwun-Yu to provide the eye candy with Rosamund Kwan Chi-Lam thrown in for extra good measure.

Charlie Cho Cha-Lee gets a fair amount of mean-spirited abuse in his role that must have been written for Chow Yun-Fat before he became to big to appear in this type of film. Shing Fui-On shreds up the scenery in a crazed performance that includes a dream sequence that has to be seen to be appreciated. Wong Jing even borrows the fake robot gimmick from Woody Allen’s Sleeper [1974] so that his three stooges can abuse their business competition.

The DVD presentation of this film is just awful. It is not letterboxed, and comes without subtitles.
