Maggie Cheung was quite masterful in an otherwise terrible movie.

Maggie is Tsui Pan-Han, a singer in a past life who committedsuicide but now a spirit awaiting her chance to reincarnate. As her future mother is about to give birth, Hong Sam Kwai (Raymond Wong) becomes the reluctant helper and manages to mess up the situation, bringing the expecting mother to the wrong hospital, then accidentally placing the room number plate upside down causing Pan-Han to miss her opportunity. Pan-Han is given a month for another opportunity so guess what she does with her time on Earth?? Revenge upon Sam Kwai! But he's got some tricks of his own for he has the spirit of a scholar (from his past life) aiding him. If you haven't seen the previous Happy Ghost series, you may not be too lost with this one as it manages to stand on its own. This is one of Maggie's first roles but she tends to be alittle too sickeningly cute with her perpetual pouting. Still this is a romantic comedy and worth a watch for comparative value to see how Maggie has matured as an actress.
