Summary: Must see demonstrations!

Granted, this was marketed with Jet Li as a star, but it shouldn't be discounted because of the fact that he only appears for about 5 minutes. If you are a fan of kung fu styles and martial arts in general, be sure to watch this. Although the subtitles are a little strange in parts, the demonstrations of different styles and weapons are incredibly fun to watch, especially when performed by individual tournament champions from across China. The movie also adds a good bit of history about different masters and major contributors to kung fu. If you ever have a chance to obtain this movie, do so without hesitation. The forms shown are truly beautiful and this DVD will remain as a favorite of anyone who are fans of wushu.

In case you had doubts about some of the moves seen in wuxia movies, this documentary will make your believe. This is any martial arts fan's dream, featuring live demonstration of everything you can think of. Jet Li is the main attraction here, but he doesn't really do anything and is nowhere near as good as some of the other champs. I expected more from him, since he was a five time champion of the All Around Wushu Contest. Oh well. Still as good as anything. The narrator is also very knowledgeable and humorous.

Summary: Great documentary!

It's simply one of the best documentaries about Wushu (Chinese martial arts)! It features dozens of demonstrations of modern and traditional Wushu. Many empty hand styles (Chang Quan, Nan Quan, Tanglang Quan, Ditang Quan, Yingzhao Quan, etc.) and lots of weapons. Some of the performers are Li Lianjie (Jet Li), Hao Zhihua, Zhao Changjun, Yu Shaowen, Li Xia and many others. There are also some old masters, one of them is performing Yia Quan (Duck Boxing)! The documentary also features some very nice locations in China and an excellent soundtrack with traditional Chinese music.

Absolutely recommended!
