nice move if your into ghost and horror type storylines. the action direction is good and billy delivers a good performance. it's a must see for his fans the plot is simple but yet the director finds a way to keep it moving in the middle kind of stalls but it is what it is a kung fu horror ghost story
7/10

After Billy Chong did Kung Fu Zombie, what's stopping him from doing another horror gung fu? Nothing-that’s why we have this movie. As for Lo Lieh, during the early 80's he must've been enamored with the gung fu gross outs, black magic/voodoo movies, because this flick is another notch in his filmography. The flick isn't that bad, but it isn't great. Billy Chong disappears from sight for chunks at a time during the film. Lo Lieh is barely in the film until the end, so what gives? We all know that China is a big old country with 1000's of years of history, not to mention DEAD people. Supposedly, there are literally 1000's of ghost stories to talk about. So, on the 7th month of the lunar calendar, all ghosts and spirits are active and get to walk the earth for the month so that they can find a way to reincarnate. During one of these nights, a young kid named Chun Sing (Billy Chong), is visited by his dead Father. Chun Sing's father states that he was murdered by a man named Kam Tai Fu (Lo Lieh). And as you may have guessed, Chun Sing must avenge his father's death. It won't be easy though because Kam Tai Fu has some help in the form of a Black Magician (Ta Hsi Yen) and his evil gung fu.

Interesting mainly because it has an early appearance by"hopping vampires". Otherwise it's terrible late-seventies kung fu-stuff. Great title though.
