Summary: No classic but not bad

The movie has a different story for a change, and I like the scenes with Ku Feng as master. The fight scenes go from standard to very good. Funny to see Yuen Cheung-Yan doubling everyone very obvious.

The first third of the movie has little action which is probably the reason why the U.S. version was cut (complete story scenes and nudity) and scenes from BRUCE LEE AND I with Danny Lee were inserted.

Summary: Hmm...

Not sure what to make of this one. The plot that takes place in the 70s is basically about Bruce Lee dying and in the rush to find a replacement Bruce Li is found by a rich woman as a profitable replacement. From here it loosely mirrors Bruce Lee's life, both in fights and events. Most of it all seems to be an excuse for more fight scenes. I'm not really sure if this is supposed to be a political, satirical, or what. I tuned out beyond that, but more things happen and more fights ensue.

Despite the involvement of some of the Yuen Clan (small cameos in some scenes, nothing beyond that), the fight scenes here are flat. Bruce Li re-enacts Bruce Lee's fight scenes (including The Big Boss and Fist of Fury), but the difference is glaring and it really doesn't stick to Jeet Kune Do incorporating other kung fu moves. However the fights are boring and uninspired. This is paint by numbers here and there must have been a good paycheck or a favor involved to get some of the Yuen clan to work on this because it doesn't show at all.

This came in the Martial Arts Essentials V4 DVD pack. It is dubbed in english, very badly cropped, and looks like a second generation VHS dub.
