This movie has the same director and most of the same cast as DEVIL AND MASTER (aka TWILIGHT SIREN). Both films feature footage that was clearly shot at the same time, as the actors frequently wear the same costumes in sequences in both films, many of the sets are identical and in a couple of really small instances, footage is exactly the same, only with different dialogue.

HKFA lists both movies as 1991, but neither film has copyright info in the credits, so I'm not sure how they got that info.
So my question is, does anybody know for sure if DEVIL AND MASTER was actually released in 1991? My guess is it was, with GUYS being pasted together with extra footage shot at the same time, but I'm wondering if there's anyway to confirm it.

We also list GUYS as a Hong Kong picture, and DEVIL as a Taiwan picture. GUYS has generic footage of Hong Kong spliced in at the beginning, but other than that there's nothing to suggest it was actually shot there (though it could have been). DEVIL, as I recall, has NO footage that makes it easy to ID where it was shot. I'm leaning towards Hong Kong for BOTH pictures since at least one of them claims to be set there.

Finally, there's a review for GUYS IN GHOST'S HAND by "ksbutterbox" that mentions Ricky Lau as the director of DEVIL AND MASTER, which we now know is not the case. Interestingly enough, Thomas Weisser's wonderful book Asian Cult Cinema also mentions Ricky Lau directed DEVIL, so it's obvious where the reviewer got his info. Also interesting is Weisser's assertion that GUYS is directed by Stanley Siu Wing. And my list just keeps gettin' longer!

Question: is there ANY way someone can at least tweak ksbutterbox's review so we can get rid of such blatant ACC-related misinformation?
