DB Title Addition: SPICE COP / HOT & SPICY (2002)

Another underrated bargain disc that seems to have slipped under the radar. Fan Siu-wong and Phillip Keung are probably no one's idea of a comedy duo, but they gamely mug their way through this silly whodunnit. Nicely shot on video, it's clear the filmmakers know their way around a scene, be it action or low-brow comedy, compared to some of the hacks who churned out video product from this era. The fight scenes in this (about four or five) are exceptional for this level of production, and the final bout between Fan and (I believe) Sze Hung-bo is a three-round treat, far better paced, edited and choreographed than one might expect.

On screen title is SPICY COP, so that should be the main. HOT & SPICY appears only on the HK DVD sleeves:

(U.S. sleeves have the same design, but SPICE COP is on the front)

Anyhoo, opening credits, closing credits, principal cast head shots and a few scenes from the movie are below (and more year-end edit points to whoever gets to them first ;) ):

This girl is also in THE SASSY CLASSMATE, so perhaps a name in the credits here might help ID her there. :?:

Not entirely sure this is a Hong Kong picture, but perhaps this background might ID the location???

Thanks for the updates.

Now I've got a nother question/possible merge

I think Ho Chung-lui from SPICE COP:

and Ho Siu-lui from THE SASSY CLASSMATE
http://hkmdb.com/db/people/view.mhtml?i ... ay_set=eng

are the same actress. But I can't be sure. All I know is that BOTH movies have this actress in them in major roles...

...and the only names in both credits that are even remotely similar, are the two I've noted here.

Any thoughts?

I've also seen her as decoration in a couple of other low-budget pieces, but memory fails me at the moment. I wouldn't even begin to know how we could merge these two... :?

added prod. co., 2 aliases, prod. man., costumes, 2 roles and 15 images.

Do you think they are the same actress? Well the form of her left ear seems the same... but the holes of her nose seems different... :?

I'd be willing to stake the relationship that I'm having with this woman (in my mind) that she's in both of those pictures.

I also provided four additional headshots of her when I submitted the photos from MY SASSY CLASSMATE, just to show her how much I care. You can also check those for plenty of similarities. She's also in some of the group cast shots.

I guarantee it's her. But the puzzle is the names. Obviously she changed it, or someone changed it for her from one film to the next, so I personally believe it's a matter of making one the main, one the alias. But until I see another film where she appears AND a Ho ___ - Lui is billed in the credits, I guess it doesn't matter which name takes precedence. ;)
