This is an interesting one! Although produced as one of the series of medium budgeted HD (high definiton digital video) productions intended for theatrical exhibition by Fortune Star and Andrew Lau's Basic Pictures, the film appears to have bypassed theatrical release and been issued direct to home video. This is evidenced by the OATII classification slip that accompanied Joy Sales Film & Video's DVD release -- an OATII is the highest release classification for a title that can be handed down by the Obscene Articles Tribunal, the secondary film censorship body in Hong Kong that govern both overseas titles and direct-to-video titles that are not submitted for legal classification by the TELA (Television and Entertainment Licencing Authority). Thereby, an OATII in this instance indicates a title that has bypassed theatrical release and been classified exclusively for home video.

That's all for the time being...

NB: Direct to home video release date in Hong Kong was June 15th, 2007.
