Yet another $2 bargain bin discovery, and another film not yet in the database (though it is listed at the HKFA in case any cross checking is required).

I moved this one up in my pile largely because of Bob's request here:

...and was rather surprised at how good this was. Well, at least well made, anyways, for a shot-on-video Wong Jing quickie circa the early 90's. The plot's right out of every comic book geek's wet dream, and not a little sexist, but Jacqueline Law's perkiness forgives a lot of sins. Anyone know if this is based on a comic book or perhaps a remake of something?

You might be right. There's a credit for "Ka Lok" in the film, on the sleeve, and at the HKFA. Perhaps he dropped his family name for awhile? :?

Added.

Although there are still more credits to be added yet.

Based on the credit, for now, I added a Jia Le (家樂) to the DB (which also happens to be pronounced "Ka-Lok").

I can see him on the Chinese side, but not on the English side. Could that just be my browser playing tricks? :? And since he speaks Cantonese in this Hong Kong movie, mightn't there be a chance that his name is actually pronounced along the lines of "Ka-Lok" or am I missing your point here about the mandarin pronunciation? :(

Nice to finally see Jacqueline Law's bio with some decent photos! I'm also curious to read the review when it's posted. :D

Yeah, I didn't assign him a romanized name as I didn't know what to call him...

I will set it to Ka-Lok for now...
