I will try to post credits in the near future, but for now, these should be enough to get an entry started for this OTHER version of the DR. LAMB story:

Incidentally, that shot of Simon Yam with the chainsaw and the severed arm doesn't actually appear in the film itself. Nice tease...

OPENING CREDITS:

(that "Hong Kong Criminal Archives" logo in the first screen looks rather stylized. Anybody know if this was a regular series of movies?)

And finally, a representative shot from the film, taken from a slow-motion montage under the opening credits. Love the set-up of this, in that it implies that serial killer Simon has hired a cab to chase after a victim with his chainsaw since he's leaning out of the passenger side of the car!

Hong Kong Criminal Archives 香港奇案 was an irregular movie series (1993-94) some of them produced by Wong Jing's Workshop.
Other movies from the series:
香港奇案之屯門色魔 / Portrait of a Serial Rapist (1994)
香港奇案之吸血貴利王 / The Underground Banker (1993)
香港奇案之強姦 / Raped By An Angel (1993)
香港奇案之AK47 / Gang AK47
香港奇案之北地胭脂 / Women From the North
there are more...

Actually they are a kind of remake of the Shaw Bros. movie series "The Criminals" (1976-77).

BTW: very very very valuable (and interesting) data... the producer of this movie later directed "Dr. Lamb"!

added covers, movie, prod., dir., writers, action dir., assist. dir., art dir., phot., mus., ed., gaffer, costumes, props and 8 actors!!!!

I'm guessing Billy Tang must have felt somewhat restricted by the television format in telling this tale, thus the much-squishier remake!

P.S. Any chance of adding my lovely shot of Simon chasing the girl with the chainsaw to the gallery?

Did you forget you can do it yourself now?

Yeah, I figured I could, but I wasn't sure how to do it. I dump all my photos on Photobucket and I didn't want to just drag and drop the link in case I delete the photo later on and suddenly the gallery has a hole in it!

What's the actual way to do it? :?

In the sidebar you should have an "Add Image" option. The easiest way is to upload it direct from your hard drive - just click "Browse" and find the file wherever it lives, then press "Submit". Once it's finished uploading you can add a description and the names of people in the image.

It's easy, honest :-) You should crop it first though, and correct the aspect ratio if it needs it (558 x 339 is a weird image size! 558 x 418 would be a 4:3 ratio, which I think would be right for this... I'm browsing on a widescreen TV with non-square pixels at the moment, so I'm not in a good position to judge aspect ratios). XNView is my tool of choice for image work - think it's available for Macintosh. This guide may help in its use:
