http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0140859/

IMDB claims 1989 from Hong Kong, but the production team is Japanese. Seems to be of interest to HK enthusiasts largely because of the teaming up of Simon Yam and Bolo Yeung. I guess this is a real curio, and nobody seems to have anything good to say about it. I woudn't have noticed it, except it's carried by several Region 1 public domain companies.

I don't even consider this a "real" Chinese movie, but it certainly garnered my interest when I dredged up several "HK" titles at Amazon on DVD. (The Simon Yam website describes it as an English language action movie)

Plot: Years after retiring from the world of free fighting martial arts, a man returns to the deadly world of fighting after his best student is killed in a tournament.

Overview: Bolo Yeung stars as Chung Lee, the ruthless fighter better known as the Vietmanese Cobra. Two years earlier, he killed a young fighter named Ryu in the final bout of the Ultimate Fighting championships. Ryu's trainer was a former champion himself, ten years earlier. Now he must come out of retirement to take on the Vietnamese Cobra.

Cast: Yasuaki Kurata (Shoji Kurata), Simon Yam Tat-Wah, Ken-Ming Lum, Cristina Lawson, Bolo Yeung (Yang Sze), John Ladalski, Stuart Smith, Richard Foo, Raja

I have the German tape and a DVD (USA). If I remember it correct almost all scenes are shoot in Hong Kong. Meg Lam, Chan Fei Lung and I believe Gam Biu are also in the movie. Language is English.

I've wondered for ages if we should include it. Michael, if this support actor info is correct, the answer is certainly Yes.

Sounds like a "yes"... Michael, can you get some credit captures from the DVD? Would hate to have to trust IMDB's info!

I can not do captures, but I look today in my DVD and make tomorrow at that place a list of the cast and the most important crew members from the credits.
