LoveHKfilm has a dvd cover where the "Wanchai" can clearly be seen:

Google "Tiger of Waichai" to see which sites copy their information from HKMDB ;)

I believe Mr Booth is right. It shd be Wanchai unless there is a Waichai district in HK. Anyway, the chinese title is Wanchai. :D

I did a little research and it appears that there is both Wanchai and Waichai in Hong Kong, but it looks like they are the same thing (Harbor Road is in both). I think for now we should change the main title to Wanchai (as that appears to be the predominantly mentioned area), but leave "Tiger of Waichai" as an alias. I think Waichai is either an alternate spelling or bad spelling.

Wanchai:

Hmmm, Wanchai is the only way I've seen it spelt on street + MTR signs in Hong Kong (it's where my girlfriend lives!).

The poster we have for the film is barely legible, but it appears to say Wanchai as well as the (slightly different) one at LoveHKfilm. I'm fine with making Waichai an alias though - it's clearly known by that name to some people, even if it's only because they got the idea here :p

I'll make the change tomorrow if nobody objects.

Here's the title card directly from the film:

It's not the most legigible of images, due to my DVD copy being Universe's original go at the film (ie: a straight port of the laserdisc master and not the remastered version recently released). However, it's pretty clear that Wanchai is spelt with an "N" and not an "I" (as it is in Hong Kong itself). ;)

OK - I went in and changed this

I added "Tragic Fantasy -- Tiger of Waichai, The" as a variant title alias
