Foh King-Wai and Mang Ding-Goh. No really! Seriously?

I've happened across these two chappies in the database and quite frankly they give me queasy memories of director Rotar Ru-tar in Thomas Weisser's Asian Cult Cinema book.

Anyone know if these are just inside jokes on the part of these guys, or do they both actually go by these names?

I'm more inclined to believe Mang's name is correct based solely on his extensive filmography, but I'm still wondering if the "Ding" is right.

I'm probably way off the mark here, but these just seem odd to me, particularly the former. The only reason the latter jumps out at me is here:

As you can see the name is mentioned (in cast.) Does Wide Sight Entertainment have a web site? Still seems made up.

I actually have the DVD for this, so perhaps I'll give it a spin and see if I can cross-reference any of the characters in the director's name to those elsewhere, which is about the only option I have when it comes to figuring out rare names like this one. Who knows, maybe the guy was a one-shot wonder, or decided to use a pseudonym when he saw the finished film (which is quite average), but the name just seems...silly.

And Mandingo? Come on....

Ka Ka is the name credited (in chinese & english) in all these movies, that I've seen. It's so obvious that is a pseudonym, like Not a Girl and all these.

That guy must be a director with a name who don't want to anybody knows he also direct cheap B-movies full of sex & violence. It's rather usual to find nicknames in Cat. III movies.

Check the movies if you want (these are funny) but you will find only the Ka Ka name.

BTW, Widesight is closed. Fo King-Wai is the director credited. Another alias for some known director, I guess.

I found the on-screen credits to KINGDOM OF MOB to be rather amusing (although the DB doesn't reflect this). Directed by "The King" (actually Ivan Lai) and written by "Mr. Fifteen" (Peter Cheung Wing-yiu) and "Green Face" (Cheng Ming-fei). Such odd choices for pseudonyms that I have to wonder if there's any hidden meaning in them. I believe these guys are credited by their proper names in the Chinese credits, though.
