Chu was only producer of this movie.

(maybe the editor mistook this movie with "Slave of the Sword"...)

That mistake probably stems from the Mei Ah DVD cover for the film, which erroneously lists "Kevin Chu" (with his Chinese name as well) as the director right on the front of the package! I figured out it was Michael Mak a loooooonnnng time ago, but before I was really posting much here on the forums. Since many other sites repeated the error, it took some comparing of Chinese symbols to figure out who the real director was, no easy task considering how "scripty" those credits are!

Glad to see it's finally fixed!
