I think the actor Fong Yuen and the make up artist Fang Yuan are the same person:

Fang Yuan:

Fong Yuen:

Same chinese characters.
The actor Fong Yuen has also small uncredited roles in at least two movies Fang Yuan made the make up.

I dunno, but 方圓 sounds like a common name. A cursory look at the HKFA site and it seems like they are treated as separate persons. Fang Yuan/actor. Fang Yuen/make up.

I looked at the HKFA and it looks for me like they have the actor and the make up artist together. Link to Fong Yuen:

We both came up with the same results and arrived at different conclusions. Because the HKFA lists them under separate English names, in this case, makes me think they are actually different people. They certainly have the same Chinese name, but the professions strike me as too different, not like actor/producer or writer/actor. It also seems there's too much overlap in time. I'm too lazy to do it but closer scrutiny of the dates might show it'd be hard to have so many credits in such a relatively short span, given that a lot of these are Cathay and Shaw productions not 7-14 day wonders.

Anyway, when it comes to combining names, it's just a personal bugaboo of mine. And I'm especially wary when it comes to two-character names, too likely to be coincidence, imo. Consider Li Xin, both a director's and an actress' name as an example.
