Remember that when you merge two names you must add the chinese alias in the chinese display page too.

I accept that I shd enter the chinese characters. Since I cd not key in Big5 characters, I copy the big 5 chinese characters and paste it in the alias section. But it show up as something else. I have no problem copy & paste big 5 characters on the forum board.

I have a request which i hope you cd help me with. The next time, i discover duplication, i wd post it in the forum for objection within 1 week.
I wd indicate the merging to be done by you. Cd you help me out on this? I really appreciate it if you cd.

If you select "Display Big5" in the upper right, do the characters in the alias display properly?

I open Sammy's pages. It seem Calros has done the proper job of inputing the chinese characters under Big5 page.

I experiment with copy and paste the same character in the alias box and description box under edit mode. Both came out funny word.

From the editor page, try selecting the "Display Big5", and THEN paste the Big5 characters into the field. I suspect that is the problem you are seeing. (This is actually a bug.)
