Good news and bad news.

First the good ones: Thanks to you we have the first entry of Peter Pan's favourite photographer in our Database, Hung Ching Yun (Taiwan, 1929). I'm satisfied, because, at least, we have one credit.

(Now if you find the rest, better for us).

Now the bad ones: the "fallen petals" of the photos don't let me see well all the credits, so I was only able to add the editor. I did not find the music, I not even know if he is credited in that photos

It's a touching melodrama, a very good one.

ciakmull, the reason I'm not sure about those credits is that it seems to describe something other than the film, perhaps the score or soundtrack. I found a separate listing for the film but it was as sparse. See below:

I read the art director name directly from the film, I'm watching again the initial credits to find more credits. I cannot read chinese, I cannot read a single character of the credits you posted...

I'm a big fan of melodrama too. My fave Shaw until now is Law Chun's Torrents of Desire, very original, elegant, with a great attention to characters. But also Cathay's Splendour of Youth is really interesting, dark and fascinating. Lately I'm watching a lot of films of this genre and I'm discovering a new world... I like very much Chor Yuen (Winter Love is absolutely a masterpiece; Tear-Laden Rose too), Chun Kim, Tao Qin and japanese director Inoue Umetsugu. I see that you're an old cantonese movies expert: any good suggestion? I'm reading your hkmdb reviews and often I buy vcd following your steps...

Sound Recorder: Wang Yung Hua (Wang Yung-Hua)

I found several french sites that credit him as sound engineer of Come Drink with Me, Killer Clans, Intimate Confessions of a Chinese Courtesan, The Mighty Peking Man, Black Magic, One-Armed Swordsman and Jade Tiger. He won also a Golden Horse award as sound recorder for 5 Shaolin Masters.

If you have not seen it yet, let me again highly suggest the Family/Spring/Autumn trilogy. I cannot recommend it enough. (However, no subs and difficult for to follow.) After that, I would pick any of the Union Film Enterprise films available. That's my strategy and no disappointments yet.
I can't remember if it was you that suggested So Siu Siu. Simply gorgeous film and very good story. I am trying to work up a write up but I am falling behind. It is subbed in English, too. As mentioned in the Subtitle thread, very few oldies available. Rumor elsewhere that Panorama has a preorder for another Cathay film, not clear if it has subs or not though. Title is Devotion.

I wasn't sure about the first set of credits I listed. Not sure exactly what it was for. The 2nd is for the film, just limited info, but the first seemed related to the music but not clear to me.

Oh! I have more doubts now. Maybe that first post is the musical partiture of "Fallen Petals", but that does not mean compulsorily of the film. It can be of one vinyl with the same title... so for the moment I will remove that lyricist. Where did you get that first post?

Same place as the second, the hkfa online site. That's why I'm not sure, it's not the film entry but seems related. Both turned up searching for the Fallen Petals title. So I provided as secondary source, if you can tie back to credits from the screen captures, it can be considered.

Yes. I don't think it has been released yet on vcd. This year Udine's Chor Yuen retrospective has been a wonderful gift... I've here The Prodigal in vhs still to see. I bought in vcd The Revived Rose just for the title, do you know if it's in some way linked with Tear-Laden Rose?

I'm sorry but the screenshots are complete. And the film score is an important factor in the movie: sweet, touching, melancholic, a wonderful soundtrack... it's a pity we cannot credit anyone for the moment!
