Wd there be copyright infringment if I paste movie poster on DB by:
1. Copying from other website; or
2. Scanning my collection gathered from magazines and newspapers purchased by me

If we can paste the posters, it wd complete the look
of the DB.

Any legal eagles out there :?:

Posters

I'm pretty sure that any poster or ad which you scan yourself is acceptable to put in the DB.

However, you shouldn't grab digital images from other websites, since that digital code could be considered copyrighted by whoever displayed it.

But I'm not an expert.

Basically, copying images from other websites should get the aggreement by the website, this is not only a kind of courtesy but that is also one of the main principal for granting copyrights.

One of our standpoint for the new system is to stop the direct copy without authorisation, I'm afraid we should take that position also when viewing others' website. Agreement should be granted from that website first before taking action.
