Koreans Update Project - Kang Cheol

This one was a tricky one for me to ID at first as he gets so little screen time in his HKMDB films and the exclusively Korean films I had were LQ He was already credited on Return Of The Scorpion [1980] and The Drunken Monk [1981] though no ID yet, so I only had two more credits to add to his filmography. I also added his DOB and a few aliases, along with ID's for (almost ) all his films.

He was credited on HKMDB as being in Double Dragon In Last Duel [1979], but I couldn't see him and he's not in the Korean or English credits. I'm covinced they've mixed up his credit from Shaolin Temple On Fire [1978] as it shares much of the same cast and crew, so I've removed his credit (and some ohter that I'll adress in my next post).

Anoyingly there's a lot less variety to his pics than I like, but as I mentioned above, in in the English versions of these films, he's only in them for about 30secs each, so I did what I could

Also, I couldn't be sure on an ID in Return Of The Scorpion, but he is listed in the Korean credits. I have my suspicion who he is but with the LQ of the footage and so many other actors showing up uncredited, I just I can't be sure. Hopefully a better quality print than the DVD will see the light of day at some point.

Koreans Update Project - Kang Cheol round 2

Well here's another one I can finally put a pin in. As with many other updates recently, it's one where I'd marked someone I suspected but wasn't ready to commit to, but now with more experience I'm confident in the ID. Sadly it's another case where the amount of decent images is severely limited, I don't know what they've got against him, why is he given so little screen-time?!

And then we have this other update: I had always suspected that Kang Cheol had a second role in this film, firstly because of the big beard (in these films that's usually a good sign they'll pop up again without a beard) and also because he didn't do any action at all. There was also the fact that he was only in the film for about 30secs, though that doesn't seem as unusual with him And after looking over the film again (and with some tweaking with the video settings to help with the dark sections) I spotted him. It turns out I'd actually miss-ID'd him as Lee Jae-yeong (2) in a secondary role, but I'm not too hard on myself as it really does look like him in a few frames, but with the added brightness everything is a lot clearer.
