Don't Open Your Eyes (2006): Cast, characters & crew

Additions and modifications to the database

Postby Mike Thomason » Fri Aug 11, 2006 7:53 am

Righteo...I've updated the cast list, but couldn't find Hedy Chang.

Edit: I've done a little bit more, in that I added producer, writer, cinematographer, editor, composer, art director, costume designer and presenter, but that's as far as I can go at present. Also, as shown in the screen grabs provided, Wong Jing has no screen credit as "director"; are we sure creditting him as such is correct? I've found no other info to suggest that he acted as anything other than "presenter" on this film. :?

I'll leave the rest to the clever folk! :)

Silly me..."Hedy Chang" is Liu Fan's new English name (it's been present on other recent films as well). Maybe I should try putting my reading glasses on before doing these things, hey?

Liu Fan added to cast and character list amended per film. I've also added "Hedy Chang" as an alias for Liu Fan to her DB entry. :)

Last addition for tonight: I've corrected the Image file for this film as well.

Someone had incorrectly identified "Jo Koo"(Jo Kuk Cho-Lam) as "Winnie Leung"(Winnie Leung Man-Yee) -- hence, I've deleted the incorrect IDs and replaced them with correct ones as well as added IDs for Winnie to the photos she was left out of.

Now, I've fallen victim to misidentities before (I'm sure I'll never live down claiming Alexander Chan was Tony Ho, or Crystal Lui being Cystal Kwok) but I know Jo Koo and Winnie Leung well...and they're the sole reasons I bothered to watch this film, as they were both in it. And I'd always rather leave an actor unidentified than take a pot-shot guess...unless I am 100% certain I know the actor. :?

I couldn't help but notice Roderick Lam's character name in the DB. Not having seen the film (yet, but it's in the pile), I have to trust it's not a spoiler?? :?

This is ME you're talking about Brian -- I don't do spoilers; there's more than enough of that already going on that has completely ruined a couple of perfectly good movies for me because I read DB entries first before watching the films.

Nope, Lam's character is referred to as "The Killer" in the English subtitles right from the outset (much the same way "The Jackal" was called so in DAY OF THE JACKAL and THE JACKAL); believe it or not, it's the actual character name for Lam's part as labelled in the subs! Now, if I had've given Jo Koo's character's full name that would have been a massive spoiler! I'm sure someone will do that for us though...

Good to know. I was aware of your recent post regarding a spoiler in one of the DB listings (which I still haven't read just to be safe! ), which led me to believe that Roderick Lam's character name was, in fact, an actual name. I just wasn't sure if the title had been in the DB for a while and someone else had assigned that name... whew!

The Jo Koo comment has piqued my interest, though, in a now-I'm-anticipating-a-twist sort of way.
