Did anyone merge Lee Ching(s)?

Has someone recently merged the Lee Ching entries? I went to add him to a cast list and and all except one credit is under Lee Ching (1). There is a single entry for (2), (3) is missing and (4) for another actor.

There are at least two Lee Chings with major list of credits in vol.4 Filmography, that I recall. One is older and the other is younger that I started seeing in late '50s/'60s films. For instance the films with '*' would not have been the same actor in the '30s/'40s.

This is also probably a good time to reiterate a suggestion I had made earlier to document mergers and splits.

Remember, once something is merged, it's going to be a big effort to undo if the prior information is lost. (I'm trying to avoid bringing up the topic of combining credits under pseudonyms here even though the same principle applies.) So let me suggest that when making mergers, take the additional step of providing details of what's being moved. It may come in handy down the line.

Also remember, that the hkmdb is the collective efforts of many people, some no longer here or active. The current caretakers of the information should at least ensure that their work is not wasted or spoiled or lost. So please keep that in mind when making your contributions, as I try to do so myself. Easier and simpler and quicker is not always without a cost. Some changes are correctable, some not without a lot of effort. I'm sure we all want to make the hkmdb the best possible. Since there is no overall overseer or master editor, it's even more encumbent that we each individually police our practices and procedures. In the long run, it's to everyone's benefit.
