Actually, this is not fully correct. Yes, the first two are definitely duplicates. But the original title of that movie is actually 'The Tale of Old House' (1979), Chinese title ???? and not the same movie as 'The Old House' (1977). 'The Old Lock,' too, is a completely different film.

I'm not clear on what you're saying. I'm saying that these 3 films are they same and should be merged.

Yes, I know what all those sources say. It's very confusing - I don't blame you.

At some point in the past, in Taiwan or HK, there was a VHS release of 'The Old Lock' (??) that was retitled to ???????. This title was published in a magazine too - it might have been a pre-production or reissue title.
However, a later Mainland release on VCD and VHS that had the same title ??????? was actually a different movie: ???? ('The Tale of Old House')
I have both movies. I think the confusion may have arisen from the fact that 'The Old Lock' was also released with the alternate title ???? (note the difference.)
So, the conclusion is that there is no one movie called ??????? - it was an alternate title used for two different movies at different times.

To make matters more confusing, we already have credits and portraits from 'The Tale of Old House' in the database, but they are assigned to the wrong movie: http://hkmdb.com/db/movies/view.mhtml?id=13741

Okay, that's what I was looking for. I figured the citations I relied on were trustworthy since they were TW sourced. I vaguely remember coming across the pre-production reference earlier but it didn't register with me.
