What is a cameo?

Postby heinz Germany » Sat Feb 29, 2020 2:03 pm

Such fault I saw many times and often changened it:
For example actor Waise Lee Chi-Hung was blilled as [Cameo] in ???? Fatal Chase (1992)
but because he already has a Chinese role-name ?? I changed that to Leung Sum [Guest]

A cameo is an well-know actor in a very small and unimportant (extra) role, which is often not credited
(as for example famous director Alfred Hitchcock made often short cameo-appereances in his own movies).

But (even I have not seen that movie) I suppose in the case it was not an unimportant, non speaking-role for Waise Lee...or am I wrong?
So it should be a [Guest] appearance (an actor/star who has a short-time apperance) any other opinions?

I never use [Guest] nor [Special guest] in the cast roles of a movie. I think it is not useful at all.
