I sent a message to this person when this post appeared. It took about a week or two with no response for me to realise it had actually been sent last year So he's my points on the matter, for others to consider.

"I'd like to know if you have any further evidence to support merging these two people? As I see that the Chinese names match, but there's a 7 year gap between the credits of each person (with only one or two credits to each) which raises an eyebrow for me, and also the change in role from actor/writer to the production department. I would hold back on a merge until more evidence can be found."
