A cinematographer since at least 1970, he directs (and photographs) a movie called MY MOTHER'S TEA HOUSE in 1990, then disappears for 16 years only to return with TWIN DAGGERS, a cheapo pan-cultural martial arts flick that doesn't fit in with his prior CV in any logical way and seems designed solely for a DTV release in the U.S.? I suppose it's possible, but I'm thinking a split might be needed here . . .

Twin Dagger looks odd because it's made in Mainland China according to our db. He's Taiwanese.

In part it says in 1994 he made a documentary on Chinese Opera, in 1995, a documentary on Confucius. From 1996-2004, he made a 900 hour martial arts period piece TV serial in Beijing

Well, at least we know where the writer came to do his research! BUT, did he get the right information here? I'm still not certain, but that cnmdb.com link and the mention of 900-hours of TV shows does give me pause. Perhaps he stuck around another year to throw TWIN DAGGERS together. Guess we leave him be for now, eh?

The cnmdb article confirms it, for me. Cut and paste the whole thing,including the title, into your favorite translator and draw your own conclusion.
