I can confirm that the first two you list are the same actress (i.e the same character).

And very pleased to see a response to one of these movies. I bought a bunch of Ruan Ling Yu (ah, what a sweetheart !) DVDs, and am in the process of doing screencaps and credits.

Glad to be of help! Yes, Ruan Ling Yu is indeed quite a sweetheart. I haven't seen this film yet but will be watching it at the Zhu Shilin program at the Hong Kong Film Archive at the end of the month.

BTW, there is a great resource about Shanghai films and stars that you might like. It's in Chinese, but I've been able to navigate around it successfully despite not being able to read it. Just remember you need to use Chinese Simplified for search terms.
