Hey, quite a few problems with these images I'm afraid!

1. Aspect ratio appears to be wrong... I think they need resizing to 720x540

2. We should always remove black bars from the images

3. We should generally crop the image further to "portrait" format - just head and shoulders. You've set the portrait flag, but they won't be used because of the shape of the image.

4. You've entered the names of actors in the description field, rather than adding them to "People in the image"

I'm afraid they'll need to be fixed and re-uploaded! I ought to put together a tutorial for using XnView to handle the first 2 issues in a batch script...

Hey, I've written a guide that covers points 1 & 2:

http://hkmdb.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=52674#52674

I'll extend it later with quick tips for custom cropping, correcting colour balance etc.

For point 4, you should type the name of the actor at the bottom of the page.

It's usually a good idea to type the full name (or copy it from the cast list), because things go quicker if what you enter is enough to uniquely identify the person :)

Hi, there is a bit on removing the black bars in XNView here:

http://hkmdb.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=44083

"A good start, but we can do more... like remove those pesky black bars, for instance. We can add multiple transforms to the list, and Auto Crop with a tolerance of 32 usually does the trick for black bar removal: "

I will try to write some more this weekend on cropping individual images (easy) and correcting colour/brightness/contrast in XNview (sometimes easy, sometimes not).

I think that actor

is not Ringo Wong Chi-Ming. Looks more like Lung Ying (2):

It's very hard to say as we don't have many older aged pics of Ringo.

I was going by his general face shape, maybe I'm wrong then :)

I checked my tape. It is Lung Ying (2) on the image. Added.
Wong Chi-Ming appears a few seconds before Lung.
