Reading some of the credits in the HKFA, the earlier Tam Tim seems to be a part-time actor/fill in whose primary functions were behind the camera: line producer, script continuity, title card calligraphy/subtitles, sort of like Lam Siu, who morphed from production manager into regular character actor/extra. So, that's why the 1963-1965 films become problematic for me. They are martial arts films which could be the beginnings of the latter Tam Tin. (I have no familarity here, so maybe our '70s experts can shed more light.) I haven't finished going through the '60s era entries in the HKFA, that might fill in the gap or more clearly delineate the two. Perhaps, he went to work in Taiwan?
[edit] Looking at the last of the '60s credits, I agree with Brian and updated where I think the split should occur. Not sure that I could spot him in Six Finger if I went back to look.
