| | John Salvitti is a multi-talented martial artist, having black belts in Tae Kwon Do, Brazilian Jiujitsu, and also is well versed in Wushu. His Wushu teacher was Madame Bow Sim Mark, the mother of action star Donnie Yen Ji-Dan. Yen and Salvitti became friends and worked together in Hong Kong with Yen usually getting the upper hand on his real-life friend/on-screen nemesis.
When Yen opted to infuse mixed martial arts in his fight choreography in recent years, he recruited John as the MMA consultant due to his impressive skills in Jujitsu.
Salvitti has appeared in a few Hollywood action films, PRIVATE WARS (1992) and SHOOTFIGHTER 2 (2995). Today, Salvitti continues to work as part of Yen's stunt team and is currently working on a new action film of his own titled UNDERCARD.
