Born in Beijing, and the son of famous artist Chi Ning, Chi Xiaoning graduated from the Art Department of Kyoto University in Japan. His works include movies such as "Journey to The Western Xia Empire" and "The Story of Qiu Ju", and TV series' like "Yong Zheng Dynasty", "Emperor of Han" and "Qiao's Grand Courtyard".
