This is a pathetic love story. Its metaphoric meaning is eternal and applicable to any time, any where.
The famous prostitute, Miss To seems cool but at the bottom of her heart, she is looking for a good man who can devoted to take good care of her. Miss Tos master always alert the young prostitutes not to fall in love with anybody. But ridiculously, To engages to a young and handsome man, King. At the same time, Tos maidservant, Lun, has also fallen in love with a poor hawker, Doggie.
To asks King to save her from the brink of desperation by bringing her home from the brothel. But actually, King is a poor guy and has no money to do so. Miss To loves King to death. Even the ransom, To is willing to prepare it herself. To plans to return Kings home village and get married. At that perfect moment, King astonishingly tells Lun that he loves her and promises to marry her as concubine later on. Luns boyfriend misunderstands the fact and regarded Lun as a jezebel. Lun is really upset and never trust man anymore. After the failure of committing suicide, she have no choice but becomes one of the prostitutes.
On the other hand, Kings parents dislike To because of her past. King is struggled and decides to sell To to his wealthy friend, Fu who has been deeply attracted by To. To feels extremely disappointed and desperate after knowing it ...... |
