After a judge denies bail for Wong Wai Hung in a drug smugglingcase, he dies in a car explosion. The police suspect Hung's girlfriend Ivy Lau of being involved. Kwong is sent in undercover to woo her and investigate. Meanwhile, Hung's right hand man Wei has his own plans. The story is coherent, and the execution is competent, but there was no emotion in the acting. There aren't many fight scenes, but they are well choreographed.

This movie focuses more on plot than it does on action. The few action scenes are scattered throughout but with alot of intense fighting towards the end. Red Zone has a story that can stand up pretty well on its own without an overreliance on guns and explosions. The story moves along pretty fast with Kenny Ho turning in a decent job for his supporting role as one of the cops. Although the plot is somewhat predictable, the movie remains one worthy of watching.
