The Rapist

Grungy and rough stuff, but believable and highly watchable. Told in semi-documentary style, we are eventually even taken into the mind of this maladjusted man, who rapes and kills (not necessarily in that order) uncautious young women (with the exception of one sprited old gal). The full gore violence of his acts are shown, and this film would have easily earned Cat III for either sex or nudity or violence alone, let alone combined. The police slowly close in, then guess wrongly, then close in again. The main detective learns to anticipate the rapist's thinking. In the final confrontation, rapist believes he's found a man that understands him. But he's in for a rude shock. Not a classic by any means, but above average if rather disturbing.

Someone is raping women in Tuen Mun. Inspector Lau Man Ching andhis team are on the case. Standard story. Average execution. Another disappointing performance by Chan Kwok Bong, who shows promise in his more mainstream films.
